Awakening 2011 London day 33

‘As for me, righteous in your sight, I shall see your face and awakening, gaze my fill, on your likeness.’ (Psalm 17, 15)

It gives us great joy to look back on the 4 days of ‘Awakening’ here in London. Sunday was indeed the Lord’s Day, as masses of people gathered to praise and worship him all throughout the day.

It was a great joy to have three special groups join is worship today, one was a group of 40 Anglican brethren will soon be embracing the Catholic faith this Easter, and the second was a group of 30 youth preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation along with Fr. Maurice. The third was a group of little kids from the Sunday school class who came along with their catechism teachers who were lead into a time of prayer and singing by Wilma.

In the evening it was yet another night spent well, as the teens took the lead themselves without even being asked, they and a few regulars seemed to have been drawn by an enigmatic pull , to sing and praise, and simply just to spend some quality time in venerating the Lord. We had a great time of intercession together, and in a very special way we prayed for the SPARKS retreat happening in Wales, and those yet to happen and all the other needs raised by people all throughout these days.

Awakening London came to an end on Monday morning, with a joyful Eucharistic celebration. The final few hours were brilliant as we sang and praised our Lord with the chapel almost full. Overall the Blessed Sacrament came to life for us and for so many others in the past few days. The gratitude and love we received from the priests (Fr. Maurice, Fr. Mark and Fr. Innocent), parishioners and the youth were only matched by the gratitude we ourselves felt for having blessed with an opportunity to adore our Lord with such a big family.

In love and prayers

Team London
