"AWAKENING" THE FINALE

There's gonna be a Great Awakening,
There's gonna be a great revival in our land,
There's gonna be a great awakening
and everyone who calls on Jesus, they will be saved !

The Pentecost & Recommitment day celebrations here were indeed a time of great Awakening for the Jesus Youth & the Church in UK.

We started our 100 days of Grace with a Prayer campaign by actively participating in the
50 days round the clock Eucharistic Adoration in Vatican (From Ash Wednesday to Easter) followed by “Awakening” - 50 day round the clock Eucharistic Adoration in UK (From Easter Monday to Pentecost Day). The weekly reflections also helped us prepare ourselves for this great day.

For “Awakening” we had more than 500 people who came over during these 50 days. It was a time were each one of us witnessed numerous miracles and blessings in our lives, our families, ministries and the Church here in UK. This initiative had been a spark that has resulted in various zonal teams like Birmingham, Bolton, Liverpool, London, Cardiff, etc plan Eucharistic Adorations zonally for such longer periods along with the local Church and other youth movements, specially during this Jubilee year.

This initiative has also got a new hope and light to the Jesus Youth movement & Church in UK with the commitment and work of our youth who have taken fulltime and partime commitments to support this initiative. They have taken challenging commitments and have been great witnesses to the youngsters here. A special thanks to the team who worked behind this initiative!!

We were graced with the presence of His Excellency Bishop Malcolm McMahon (Bishop of Nottingham and the chair of the Department of  Evangelisation & Catechesis of the  Bishops Conference), Rev. Fr. John Joe Maloney (Episcopal Vicar of Leicestershire & Rutland),
Msgr. John Lally, Fr. Paul Nelikulam (Parish priest – Mother of God Church, venue of the 50 days Adoration), Fr. Marcel Fangoo & Fr. Joel to celebrate the Recommitment day Mass for us. We were also blessed to have with us Manoj chettan & family with us for the entire day.

We had plans to invite the His Excellency, but we did not do so initially as it was late when we had our final plans for the day sorted. It was a great miracle for us when His Excellency called and asked if he could come and celebrate the Mass for us and give a surprise to the Jesus Youth of UK. Praise God for all His blessings!!

We had around 450 Jesus Youth who came over yesterday to recommit their lives to Jesus and, His mission through the Jesus Youth Movement to be at the service of the Church.
We started the day with a fellowship over lunch followed by the Recommitment day Liturgy & Awakening conclusion Adoration, May Day procession along with the deanery, Session by Manoj Sunny & the Recommitment day Mass and anointing Prayer. It was such an anointed time when His Excellency and all the Priests anointed and Prayer over every person who came and also when His Excellency led the Recommitment day Prayer & Jubilee Prayer with great passion. His opening statement on Jesus Youth was quite uplifting for every Jesus Youth who came.

A few of us also got some time for discussion over dinner with His Excellency who has expressed all his appreciation and support for our work as a missionary movement at the service of the Church.

These 100 days have truly brought in great Awakening to the Jesus Youth of UK.

Awakening - Day 48

"O God, help us be faithful and true to ourselves, to others and to You. Grant that nothing may ever make us tell a lie of any kind, either by exaggeration or understatement or by unjustifiable mental restriction. Assist us in our weakness so that we may never grieve or disappoint those who love us and those we love. Help us to keep our promises and enable us to grow as trustworthy men and women in small things and great things alike. This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen."

It was an awesome experience for everyone gathered here on this Saturday evening, as we were lead into the Pentecostal vigil mass by Fr. Arikat. God's grace and the blessing of the Holy spirit was indeed experienced by nearly 40 people as we gathered round the Eucharistic table. I thank all the people who were present here today, all the local families and youth from Leicester and in a very special way i take the opportunity to thank Fr. As we prepare ourselves for the feast of the Pentecost there seems to be awesome presence of the Holy spirit in this place. Seven days into the Holy spirit novena, contemplating each day on the various gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, seeing the mighty works in the lives of the Apostles and the early church in the daily reading, gives us a new vigor to move on ahead. New vitality to entrust ourselves completely at the disposal of the Holy spirit to be used in spite of our weaknesses, from the conviction that the Spirit lives and moves in our hearts and empowers us each day of our lives.

The power and majesty of our good Lord is so evident in this place. His mercy and Love is overflowing and there are no words to express our gratitude and gratefulness towards Him. Awakening - Day 43

"How good and delightful to see kindred living together in unity! It is like precious oil poured upon Aaron's head, running down his beard on to the collar of his robes. It is like the dew of Hermon coming down the mountains of Zion, where the Lord confers His blessing; life everlasting" Psalms 133

It was indeed a day when children of God assembled in the presence of Lord with much joy and happiness. How beautiful it is when God's people come together. The marvels that the Lord work amongst His people is so wonderful and miraculous.

Awakening - Day 42

"Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the spirit of God ever says 'Jesus be cursed!' and no one can say 'Jesus is Lord' except by the Holy Spirit." - 1 Corinthians 12: 3

These beautiful words form the Bible are truly words of assurance for all of us who have declared Jesus Christ to be our Lord. For it is not from our human intellect that we have made this mighty declaration but by the power of the Holy spirit that dwells in each one of us.

Praise God for this blessed week from today the feast of the Ascension of our Lord into heaven, to the the feast of the Pentecost on the 23rd, may we all use this time to prepare ourselves in a worthy manner to be the bearers of the Holy spirit to everyone around us.

if we endure, we shall also reign with Him;
if we deny Him, He will also deny us;
if we are faithless, He remains faithful - for he cannot deny Himself." - 2 Timothy 2: 11-13

My dear friends, St. Paul in the above word of God he so beautifully states a message of hope for eternal life if we remain faithful to the Lord, and also a warning if we deny Him. Even though many a times life situations, trials and tribulations cause us to deny Jesus, He is a faithful God always true to His teaching, ever loving and forgiving.

Awakening - Day 37

"The Lord is the one who makes people stand, He gives firmness to those he likes. They may stumble, but they will not fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand."- Psalm 37: 23-24

This beautiful word of God gives consolation to us, for many a times when we 'stumble' along life's journey we get all anxious and worried, often forgetting that the Heavenly Father is holding on to our hand, and is always present closely by our side. We are all called to be His sons and daughters each one of us by our name. His love is immeasurable and everlasting. So let us take courage and stand in firmness through whatever challenge life poses in front us. Turning back to the big trouble and saying that I HAVE A BIG GOD ON MY SIDE.

I thank Fr. Arikat specially for celebrating the Holy Mass which was yet another anointed time. Thankyou Father for your constant support and encouragement. I also thank Dhanya and Ashok( Sheffield); Anu (Boston); Ancy Sojin (London); Chitra, Savio, Abhy (Liecester) and all the local families and parishioners for coming here and spending their time in the Eucharistic Lord's presence. Awakening - Day 36

"I will lie down and sleep in peace,
for you alone, O LORD,
make me dwell in safety." - Psalm 4:8

These are the words of comfort when we truly enjoy the peace of our Lord. During these days of adoration, God has been clearly indicating how this peace can flow in to each and everyone, despite of our restlessness and distress. This peace and safety is not gained by destroying enemies but through a greater joy, a greater spirit that overwhelms from the Eucharistic Lord.

I really want to thank Dr. Navin for having spend the last two days with us, I also thank Avarachan (Leicester), Anu (Boston), Ancy Sojin (London), Joemon &Unni (Oxford), Lincy (Northampton) and all other parishioners for coming here and joining us in prayers. God bless you all.

Awakening - Day 35

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord". - Romans 8:38-39

Once again the word of God proves to us how abundantly the almighty God loves us. Are we even bothered about this precious gift of love from His kingdom ? truth be told, I feel many a times we are so engrossed in the worldly love that we ignore this pure love that God has to offer us.
We really had a blessed day today, with an anointed time of praise and worship lead by Fr. Cyril. Personally I had a great time of enjoying God's love and also realizing the many ways in which God has been showering His love upon me. We prayed for all the intentions during the stations of the Cross.
My greatest gratitude towards Fr.Cyril, Sr.Meena, Francis and Sharlet, Jitto, Surabhi for the valuable time they spend in worshiping the Eucharistic Lord. Awakening - Day 32

"Lord I give you my heart,
I give you my soul, I live for you alone,
Every breath that i take every,
Every moment I'm awake,
Have your way in me."

This simple song beautifully express the desire of ones heart to worship the mighty Lord, to praise him with all that we have within us, for His love's so great and overwhelming.

It was great to have Joby and Vinitha and their kids with us, as the drove all the way form Manchester to Leicester during the early morning hours to be in the presence of the Lord on the day of their 6th wedding anniversary. We pray for God'd blessing on them forever.

The wonders of the Lord never seize, for he touches us with his mercy every moment and every possible way, this morning we prayed for Bijoy and Diana's (Manchester) PR application to be sanctioned and by the evening is was done. PRAISE GOD!!!

"Come now is the time to worship, come now is the time to give your heart, come just as you are to worship, come just was you before your God.. come....."

Looking back at the joyful 30 days of Awakening..and just another 20 to go, as we enter the 31st day today... this song just can't seem to get out of my mind. Calling us to come and worship the Lord just as we are, giving Him our hearts and all that we have. come before it too late.. not wasting this precious period of grace.

Awakening - Day 30

"We know that in everything God works for the good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose."- Romans 8:28

Many a times we wonder why things go wrong with us in spite of us being so strongly rooted in faith and always doing what is right. Sometimes however we fail to see the bigger picture, that in every little way God tries to teach us one small lesson, that is 'TRUST IN ME'.
As the scripture above states, lets us believe that in everything that happens in our life the Heavenly father has a plan and that He will turn it for our own good. All he wants us to do is continue loving him and trusting in him.

I thank Tojy,Simi, Usha, Seby, Joshy and Family (Portsmouth); Roy (Manchester); Jeens Nolly, Sebastian and Sophia (Birmingham); Nivin and Jill (Northampton); Anju and Waku ( Cardiff); Hazel (Chester); Beena (Boston) for having come here and joined us in prayer.

God bless you all

It was indeed a gracious day, personally too having witnessed my very own miracle of my visa being sanctioned. To see the glory of the Lord enfold so beautifully yet another time, confirming that there can be miracles when you believe.

Awakening - Day 26

In the Gospel reading of today John 14 : 1-6, Jesus is seen comforting his disciples and revealing the truth that leads to the Father;
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6

Just like the disciples the Lord comforts each one of us, revealing this great mystery to us. As the Lord continues to be in a part of lives day in and day out, especially during this perpetual adoration, let us take this an an opportunity to learn from Him and trust in Him and prepare ourselves better for our heavenly journey.
